I’m a scrap-booking addict of epic proportions. I live in a little sea-side village off the east coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa. I share my life with my hubby and seven dogs and I count myself very lucky to have them. I have a beautiful daughter who is now 24 and whom I am very proud of and love dearly. I am also godmother to little Isabella, my niece whom I also love to bits.
Whilst scrapping is my number one hobby, I am also an avid reader and I also enjoy taking long walks with my dogs.
I really do enjoy the simple pleasures in life and one of my greatest pleasures have to be a long hot bath at the end of the day and then getting into my bed. I have a thing for crisp, white cotton sheets that smell like sunshine and summer. I’m addicted to coffee and drink far too much of it. I love the smell of the earth after the rain. I love the exuberant way my dogs greet me every morning and the new challenges brought on by every new day. I love the cry of a fish eagle and I am passionate about wildlife and animals in every respect. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Cathy
Hi there!! Me again!! This is my entry for the May Challenge at Once Upon A Sketch in collaboration with Berry71bleu and I managed to complete it with just a few hours to spare..lol!! The theme of the challenge is to use a number on the project and what that particular number means to you. So, I added the month and year just below my title. This month , May 2013, would be exactly two years since my sister, hubby and Isabella left South Africa to pursue a better and safer life in another country and this move was mainly for the sake of Isabella as there is not much of a future for the youth in this country anymore. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I miss that little family :( The journaling s inside a little envelope which is tucked behind the photo on the left of the layout :) The chipboard required in the challenge by Berrybleu71 is a decorative chipboard circle which I painted white. And with that I guess it concludes my entry...lol!! Here is Nadia's wonderful sketch:
I also used the following papers from Maja design:
Crea Diem: Ord Flyger Bort
Crea Diem: Kann Dig Sjalv BS
Vintage Summer Basics - 1912
Crea Diem: Kann Dig Sjalv
Crea Diem: Ord Flyger Bort BS
And that is all for today my friends and now I am going to take advantage of this gorgeous day and what is left of it to spend some time in the garden :)
Hi there friends :) It's been a while since I have posted but I took some time out to spend with hubby as I haven't seen him in almost three months!! Anyways, this is what I've been busy with lately. I made this egg holder for my daughter who's getting married in February 2014 and she is furiously setting up home and is so excited by the prospect of being Mrs Watson in very near future :) She has the most AMAZING big farm kitchen and this paper was absolutely made for this project I had in mind. I used Graphic 45 French Country Collection Promenade #4500630 and I sooo regret not buying more of this paper. I could have made all sorts of matching little things for her kitchen :( Thanks for having a little look-see :) I always appreciate a visit from you :) Till later!! xxx
Hi there friends :) Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day and were spoilt rotten :) Today I am sharing with you a layout done for the challenge over at Scrap Around The World. This is a new challenge site so hop on over and check it out. I enjoyed working with the sketch and was very inspired by the colours in the moodboard. For a change I felt like getting away from flowers and frilly things, so when I do a male layout I sure need all the inspiration I can get as I find it extremely difficult :). Well, that's all for today:) Have a wonderful week!!
