The Start Of Something New

Hello friends :) Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas Season and before I say anything else, I'm taking this opportunity to wish all my friends a wonderful 2013!! On that note, the theme over at Once Upon A Sketch for the January challenge is "The Start Of Something New" and once again Nadia provided a beautiful sketch to work with. I was in Mozambique in December and on NewYears Eve we were playing around on the beach and it was quite fascinating to see the tide wash away the silly things we were writing in the sand and then an idea started forming in my head to take a photograph of the tide washing away my 2012 inscription in the sand and for some reason, once I wrote 2013, the water just did not want to reach it so it was quite symbolical for me...the start of something new :) The journaling reads: "A fresh start, a new beginning, so many possibilities!! Hoping that this new year will bring everyone more joy, more music, more laughter, more gratitude, more friends, more surprises and lots of happy memories!!

The vine is a home-made job-a-la-Cathy and I used some pretty little pearls from Flourish With A Bling.

And here is Nadia's beautiful sketch:)

That's all for now, take care till next time :)

  7. This page is such a stunner, Cathy. Do you have a wide format printer? I love the way you wrote on the page. Beautiful techniques. Love the brick work.

We went to Mozambique one December holiday too. It was a long time ago. It was still a little scary there at that time. It wasn't too long after the bombings of the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. But the beaches, ah! Lovely. And the seafood was divine. We met the nicest people in Mozambique. Would have love to have met you there!
