Follow Your Dreams

Hi there!! Me again!! This is my entry for the May Challenge at Once Upon A Sketch in collaboration with Berry71bleu and I managed to complete it with just a few hours to spare..lol!! The theme of the challenge is to use a number on the project and what that particular number means to you. So, I added the month and year just below my title. This month , May 2013, would be exactly two years since my sister, hubby and Isabella left South Africa to pursue a better  and safer life in another country and this move was mainly for the sake of Isabella as there is not much of a future for the youth in this country anymore. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I miss that little family :( The journaling s inside a little envelope which is tucked behind the photo on the left of the layout :) The chipboard required in the challenge by Berrybleu71 is a decorative chipboard circle which I painted white. And with that I guess it concludes my entry...lol!! Here is Nadia's wonderful sketch:

I also used the following papers from Maja design:

Crea Diem: Ord Flyger Bort

Crea Diem: Kann Dig Sjalv BS

Vintage Summer Basics - 1912

Crea Diem: Kann Dig Sjalv

Crea Diem: Ord Flyger Bort BS

And that is all for today my friends and now I am going to take advantage of this gorgeous day and what is left of it to spend some time in the garden :)

Till next time..happy scrapping!! :) xx

The Wonderful Joys of Childhood

Hello my friends:) I was lucky enough to be honored with a Guest Spot for Berry71bleu this month and this is the layout I created for Debbie's April Challenge: Flowers. Once again I used papers from Maja design's Vintage Summer Basics collection and also a little from the Vintage Spring Basics Collection.

Maja Design: Vintage Summer Basics 1921

Maja Design: Vintage Summer Basics 1922

Maja Design: Vintage Spring Basics 7th of April BS

The flowers are all hand-made and here are a few close-ups. Here you will find a tutorial on how to make the little beaded flowers.

The little butterfly at the top is from Imaginarium Designs and I have no clue where the other chippies came from. I really need to take better note of my products as I usually throw the packaging away once everything is in it's designated place.:(

Thank you very much for looking and have a wonderful weekend!!

Hugsxx

You Colour My World

Hello again my scrappy friends :) I made this layout for a challenge over at Berry71bleu hosted by the incredibly talented Kay Fatula. The theme is "You Colour My World" and the challenge is to use paint in any form on your layout. Of course my darling little niece Isabella fits the theme just perfectly. I became very frustrated with this layout as I really struggle to work with more than three colours at most but it kind of came together in the end. I painted the background paper with some gesso and I also painted the little scalloped chipboard circle.I also used Kay's very clever method of rolling journaling into a scroll when you find that you don't have much space on your page especially when you have a bit to say...lol!! What I love about doing journaling this way is that it actually serves as an embellishment at the same time. Thank you Kay...you are such a clever lady :)

On this layout I also used the very cute little FWAB Trent's Fence Puffy from Flourish With A Bling and also some pretty little pearls from Flourish With a Bling  which are the FWAB Adhesive Pearls 100 Pack Pewter. Well, that's me for today. Need to get ready for a hectic week at work again.

Well, that's all from me for today...till next time, stay safe and take care!x
